Since Benevieni observed a mesenteric cyst at autopsy in 1507, it has been a clinically rare disease. It is generally agreed that diagnosis is not certain before surgical exploration, beca-use the symptoms are extremely variable according to the size and location of the cyst. During the period of this year (1975), authors had experienced two cases of mesenteric cyst in children, which were surgically treated with good results. Among these cases, one was fo-und in the mesentery of sigmoid colon, and the other in the mesentry of ileum.
